What it does

Rental Listing & Rent Comps Writer is a free Grok bot template. Free Grok Bot for landlords and property managers: rent comps from your own data, fair-housing-safe listings and copy for your PM software.

Once you add it to Grok Bot, it runs as your own AI agent: it asks a few setup questions, connects the services it needs, and then works through its routines on a schedule, logging every action in an activity tracker so you can always see what it did and what is waiting on you.

Who it's for

Small landlords, property managers and leasing agents with single-family rentals, small multifamily or apartment units who list vacancies in AppFolio, Buildium, Rent Manager, DoorLoop, TenantCloud or on the MLS.

No coding is required. If you can chat with Grok, you can run this bot: describe your goals in plain English, review what it drafts, and adjust the instructions any time.

FAQ

Where do the rent comps come from?

From data you have: your own leased units, MLS or property management software exports, listings you've saved, and public county records. If you have your own rent data API key (for example RentCast), it can use that too. It doesn't scrape Zillow, Redfin or Realtor.com.

Does it work with AppFolio, Buildium or Rent Manager?

Yes. It formats paste-ready listing fields (title, description, amenities, rent, deposit, available date) or a CSV for your software, and you post it from your own account.

How does the fair housing check work?

It scans every draft for words that state or imply a preference about protected classes under the Fair Housing Act and any local protections you tell it about, then suggests neutral wording. It's a safety net, not legal advice.

Is it free?

Yes. The template is free. It uses your own data and public records, so there's no paid data service unless you choose to add your own API key.

Will it act without asking me?

No. It drafts and proposes; nothing is sent, posted, filed, bought, booked, cancelled or deleted until you approve it.

Is my data shared anywhere?

No. Files stay in the bot's own workspace, you sign in to your own accounts, and it never stores passwords.
