Follow the guided Twilio setup: copy Account SID and Auth Token, buy a voice number, create an Elastic SIP Trunk with a Termination URI and credential list, enable Call Transfer + PSTN Transfer

Let it create /workspace/trackers/ai-outbound-caller-twilio-livekit.csv (starter header: date,item,action,status,url,waiting_on,next_action,next_due,notes)

Follow the guided LiveKit setup: copy Project URL, API Key and Secret, create the outbound SIP trunk

Upload your contacts CSV (name, phone in E.164, notes, consent fields) and confirm consent + DNC scrubbing

FAQ

Is AI calling legal?

Only with prior express consent (written consent for telemarketing). The FCC confirmed in 2024 (FCC 24-17) that AI voices are 'artificial' under the TCPA. You also need DNC scrubbing, 8am-9pm local calling hours, disclosure and opt-out. Check state laws and get legal advice.

What accounts do I need?

A Twilio account with a voice number and an Elastic SIP Trunk, and a LiveKit Cloud project with an outbound SIP trunk. Optional STT/LLM/TTS provider keys if you don't use LiveKit Inference.

What happens when someone answers?

It identifies your business and that it's an automated assistant, states the purpose, offers opt-out, and if they want to talk, transfers them to your cell.

What about voicemail?

Per campaign: leave your pre-approved message after the greeting, or hang up without a message.

How does it keep track of what it has done?

Every call outcome goes to a calls CSV, and every action to /workspace/trackers/ai-outbound-caller-twilio-livekit.csv with columns date,item,action,status,url,waiting_on,next_action,next_due,notes.
