What it does

X Bookmarks to Notion Brain is a free Grok bot template. Turn your X bookmarks into a searchable Notion library: every saved post summarized, tagged and findable, with a daily filing and weekly best-of recap.

Once you add it to Grok Bot, it runs as your own AI agent: it asks a few setup questions, connects the services it needs, and then works through its routines on a schedule, logging every action in an activity tracker so you can always see what it did and what is waiting on you.

Who it's for

Turn the posts you bookmark on X into a summarized, tagged, searchable Notion library, with optional daily filing and a weekly best-of recap.

No coding is required. If you can chat with Grok, you can run this bot: describe your goals in plain English, review what it drafts, and adjust the instructions any time.

Features

  • Reads your private X bookmarks through the official X plugin (you sign in with X once)
  • Writes a 2-3 sentence summary, a 'why it matters' line, a category and tags for each bookmark
  • Files everything into an X Library database in your Notion, skipping duplicates
  • Marks your keepers so the good stuff doesn't get buried under one-day news
  • Finds anything you saved: ask in plain English and get the Notion entry plus the original post
  • Builds topic pages (e.g. everything you saved about Facebook ads) once you OK them
  • Optional daily 7 AM filing and a Sunday 6 PM 'best of the week' recap
  • Read-only on X: never posts, likes, follows or removes bookmarks without your yes
  • Keeps an activity-tracker CSV of every bookmark it files

What it can access and what it never does

What it can access

  • Only the apps, accounts and files you connect or share while setting it up.
  • Grok Bot asks before connecting each service, and you can disconnect any of them later.
  • It runs in your own Grok Bot workspace. Grokbot Agents never sees your chats or data.

What it never does

  • It drafts, you approve: nothing goes out without your OK.
  • It never works outside the rules and limits you give it during setup.
  • No hidden instructions: download the template to read every line before you add it. Never paste passwords into the chat.

  3. Create a new bot in Grok Bot
  4. Open the downloaded JSON and copy the instructions

  6. Answer its setup questions and connect services

Setup steps for X Bookmarks to Notion Brain

1

Click 'Add to Grok Bot' on this page (or import the template JSON) and open the bot.

2

Connect X: Grok Bot sidebar > Connect apps > X > Add > sign in with X. Bookmarks are private, so public X access isn't enough.

3

Connect Notion: Connect apps > Notion > Add > Authorize, and pick your workspace.

4

Answer the bot's first question: should it start with your 50 most recent bookmarks? Then OK the X Library database it proposes.

5

It creates its activity tracker /workspace/trackers/x-bookmarks-notion-brain.csv (date,action,post_url,author,title,category,notion_url,status,approved_by_user,notes).

6

Open your new X Library in Notion, then say yes to daily filing if you want it automatic.

FAQ

Can a Grok Bot really read my bookmarks?

Yes, once you add the X plugin and sign in with X. Without signing in, bots can only read public posts, and bookmarks are private.

Does it cost anything?

Grok Bot sets up an X developer account for you, and paid plans include starter X API credits. X bills reading your own bookmarks at a small per-item rate, currently about $1 per 1,000 bookmarks. The bot mentions the cost before big batches.

Why can't it get my older bookmarks?

X only shares about your 800 most recent bookmarks through its API. Paste links to older posts and the bot will file them too.

Will it unbookmark or post anything?

No. It's read-only on X. It only removes bookmarks if you ask and approve the exact list.

Can it summarize videos?

It summarizes video and image posts from the post text, the thread and any linked page. It doesn't watch the video itself.

Do I need Notion?

Yes, the library lives in Notion, and the free plan works. Prefer Google Docs? Ask it to keep a running Google Doc instead.
