FAQ

Do I need a ChatGPT API key?

No. Use the official ChatGPT data export (Settings → Data controls → Export) or paste threads. No API key required.

Will it overwrite my existing Obsidian notes?

No. It writes new notes under the paths you approve and won't clobber notes you've edited; updates are proposed or additive.

Does my chat history leave my machine?

The bot works on files you give it in its workspace. It doesn't upload your export to other services. Keep the vault in your own synced folder.

Can it keep updating every day?

Yes. Drop new export slices or threads into an inbox folder and a daily routine processes only the new items.

Will it act without asking me?

No. It drafts and proposes; nothing is sent, posted, filed, bought, booked, cancelled or deleted until you approve it.

Is my data shared anywhere?

No. Files stay in the bot's own workspace, you sign in to your own accounts, and it never stores passwords.
